Meet Muse de Soi.
The name translates to “Muse of Oneself,” and honestly? I think I needed to create this brand just as much for myself as I did for all of you.
The "Wake Up Call" of Motherhood
Being a first-time mum is the most incredible experience, but if I’m being completely honest, I found myself losing my identity in the middle of it all. Between the nappies and the constant needs of a tiny human, "Kat" started to feel like a distant memory.
I’ve always been someone who finds their confidence in those small rituals, doing my hair, or that ten minute skincare routine at the end of the day. It’s how I pour back into my own cup. But on maternity leave, I realised I had no time for myself, and I was struggling to find products that actually solved my skin’s "new mum" stress.
It was a total wake-up call. I’ve dreamt of launching a skincare brand for years, and suddenly I found myself thinking: Helloooo... why aren't you doing it already?
Built on Nap-Times and Ambition
Launching a brand while being self-employed and raising a newborn isn't the "glamorous" founder story you see on Instagram. It was built in the trenches.
Because I don't have a traditional maternity leave with my social media business, I spent every spare second I had, while my son napped beside me and I stayed up until 2:00 or 3:00 AM obsessing over every single detail.
I spent those quiet hours perfecting the formulas, building the website from scratch, and making sure the packaging felt as luxe as the ingredients inside. I sampled every single iteration until I finally fell in love with a routine that actually worked for that "happy medium" skin struggle.
