Keepin' Hair Fresh Between Washes

Monday, 16 April 2018

Do you find washing and drying your hair a chore? Because I certainly do. My hair is extremely thick and where I am growing it out too it takes twice as long as it used to. Last night it took me half an hour to dry where it used to take me 10-15 mins, I also have to wash my hair twice as one shampoo just isn't enough. Talk about arm workout for ya!

So I now try and leave my hair as long as possible, and only wash twice a week, three times if my hair really looks that bad. So here is how I keep my hair full of volume, looking clean and fresh for the week.

I firstly brush my hair to make sure all the knots are out, and I section off my hair ready to straighten. I only straighten my hair because in the evening I like to do a half up half down bun on my head so it leaves a nice kink in my hair when I take it down, and also I like to go over it quickly just so it looks slightly better that what it did when I had first woken up in the morning.

Once my hair has been straightened, I then brush my hair into the way I would like to wear my hair for that day. For me it's a side parting. Then I use my ultimate fave, Batiste Dry Shampoo, Original which smells so clean and fresh, at my roots and rub that in with my fingers to make sure there are no white patches on my hair.

Dry shampoo is literally my best friend. I use this method on a day that my hair looks like it could do with a freshen up. I then just play with my fingers until I am happy with the way my hair looks for the day. Here's a picture of me on third day hair using this method, only difference being I curled my hair instead of straightening it...

Calm The Frizz!

Friday, 13 April 2018

I am so addicted to dying my hair. I was doing so well with having months of natural coloured brown hair when I decided to buy some blonde hair dye and well...put some highlights through my hair. This is now what my hair looks like...

Washing My Hair
I wash my hair with John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo which makes my hair feel like straw but luckily I only wash my hair every 3-4 days, my hair gets so knotty and it just does not look great. I then stick a little bit of conditioner on by Herbal Essences Bio: Renew Argon Oil. This makes my hair feel a little bit better, I don't want to apply too much conditioner as it would just weigh my hair down

Drying Time
When it comes to drying my hair I use a heat treatment, the one I am currently loving is the Davines OI All In One Milk. It is my ultimate fave, makes life so much easier when it comes to combing my hair through. I don't spray too much as again, I don't want any product weighing down my hair too much so I spray it all on my ends and use a round styling brush to dry my hair.

Pass The Oil
Lastly, being a recent purchase has just completed everything. Yes, I know! I use too much product on my hair but my hair feels like it is in good condition after sticking three boxes of bleach on in a week. My hair feels so smooth and soft, and tames the frizz after styling when using the Ouai Hair Oil. A little bit pricey but all I need to use is one pump and that does my short hair. I am still currently trying to grow out my hair, so with my hair being so short I am constantly using heat to tame the awful bed hair, which is also why I use these products to try and keep my hair in good enough condition.. My hair feels great and I am a happy person.
